Portrait photographer in Copenhagen – natural and professional portraits

A good portrait is about more than just looking good. It should show who you are – your personality, style and the expression you want to convey. Whether it’s for your company website, your CV, an article or just a nice picture for yourself or your loved ones, the goal is the same: an image that feels real.

At Weigang Photography, I create portraits with presence and authenticity. I guide you through the entire process so you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Together we find the look that suits you – whether it’s a serious business portrait, a creative artist image or an informal portrait for private use.

A safe and comfortable experience with the portrait photographer

You don’t need to be used to being in front of a camera – it’s my job to make you feel comfortable. I’ll help you every step of the way with posing, expressions and small adjustments to make you look natural and confident.

We see the images together – on the road

During the session, I use an iPad or computer so you can continuously view the images and get a sense of the result. This allows for small adjustments right away and creates a more relaxed and efficient experience.

Where does a portrait shoot take place?

Set aside plenty of time for the shoot – it should be a calm experience
When booking, I recommend that you choose a time when you have plenty of time and don’t feel pressured. This provides the best conditions for a safe and comfortable session – and the best images.

We start with a short chat
When you arrive, we have an informal chat about your wishes and the purpose of the portraits. The more you tell me, the better I can customize both style and mood – and of course guide you through the entire process.

We start in the studio – and may continue outdoors
We usually start in my studio, where there is peace and quiet and full control over the light. It provides a safe setting and some clean, stylish images. If the weather permits, we can also shoot outdoors to give you more variety.

Do you want a different location?
It is also possible to shoot at a location other than the studio – just arrange this in advance.

You’ll be guided every step of the way
Don’t worry about how to stand or look. I’ll help you with posing and expression so you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.

We’ll look at the images together along the way
I typically bring an iPad or phone so you can follow along and get a feel for how the images look. That way, we can adjust if there’s anything you want different.

Select the images at home in the comfort of your own home
When the session is over, we settle up immediately. Shortly after, you’ll receive a link to an online gallery where you can choose your favorite images at your leisure – with a friend or partner if you like. Trust your gut feeling.

Editing and delivery
Once you have made your selection, I edit the images. As a rule, you’ll have them ready the next business day. If you have a deadline, it’s important that you let me know well in advance.

What should I wear for portrait photography?

Bring multiple outfits
It’s a good idea to bring different options so we can change along the way and adapt the clothes to the look you want. The choice of clothing plays a big part in how your images are perceived – and is therefore an important part of the preparation.

Think contrasts and variation
A classic setup could be a blazer and shirt. Alternatively, bring a crew neck t-shirt as an alternative. This allows for both a formal and a more relaxed look – perfect if you want to use the images in different contexts, such as LinkedIn and social media.

Calm, muted colors work best
Stick to neutral colors without big logos or wild patterns. A dark jacket and a simple light shirt or t-shirt almost always works well and keeps the focus on you – not the clothes.

The clothes should match your message
Think about what you want to convey with your images: Should it be professional and authoritative? Friendly and welcoming? Or creative and personal? Your choice of clothing should support the impression you want to make.

Avoid this
Oversized clothing – especially blazers – can make the body appear larger and less balanced in photos. In my experience, oversized blazers for women often end up requiring little tricks like tucking the jacket into the back to create shape. When in doubt, bring both a regular and an oversized version and we can assess together what works best.

Patterns, stripes and strong textures can be distracting in photos. Please bring an alternative so that we have something to switch to if it turns out that it doesn’t work optimally in the camera.

Find inspiration in the gallery
If in doubt, take a look at my gallery – especially in the LinkedIn and CV portraits section . Here you can get a good impression of what others have chosen to wear and find inspiration that suits your own style.

When and how do I receive the images?

After the shoot, you’ll receive a link to an online gallery where you can select your favorite images at your leisure. Take your time – and get input from a friend or colleague if you wish.

Once you’ve made your final selection and let me know, I’ll start editing. As a rule, you’ll have the finished images ready within one business day.

Practical information

Addresses :

Islands Brygge 79a
2300 Copenhagen

Packing outside the front address is 1 hour free packing remember to set the washer.

Since we spend 60 minutes in this session, I would recommend parking 50 meters further down at Islands Brygge 77 as there are 3 hours free.

*at agreed location

We can arrange a place where we can meet and take pictures. I generally stick to Islands Brygge and inner Copenhagen.

If it’s a private building, you need to get permission for us to take photos there.

The location must be agreed in advance before the booking is made, unless it is in and around the studio
