Portrait photographer – Portrait for Berlingske Talent 100 2025 with Anne Sofie Buur Meilsøe from Freejogger

Every year, Berlingske publishes their Talent 100 list, which celebrates young talent in the Danish business community. This year, Anne Sofie Meilsøe, co-founder of Freejogger, was among the nominees in the entrepreneur category. Anne Sofie contacted me when she needed a portrait for the newspaper and the Talent 100 campaign.

A portrait with personality

Anne Sofie needed a professional but personal portrait and chose my portrait package, which includes a 60-minute photo session and five edited images.

We started the season with a brief chat about Anne Sofie’s wishes, what look would suit her, and how we could achieve a professional look – but keep it down to earth, as Anne Sofie’s customer target group is families with children and babies in strollers. At the same time, she wanted to appear as a professional entrepreneur.

Photo session in the studio

We started the photo session in my studio at Islands Brygge – Copenhagen. Here we tried a few different outfits and quickly realized that a light blazer with a crew neck t-shirt worked really well. It gave a professional, yet relaxed and friendly feel. We also took a few shots with a black cardigan for a more natural and unpretentious portrait.

After about 25 minutes, we went to a location close to the studio where the surroundings had muted colors and good depth. Here we took pictures in two outfits – again, the bright blazer and t-shirt and a sporty running jacket. The running jacket was especially relevant because Freejogger is aimed at active parents and we could show a more personal side of Anne Sofie as an active mom.

Variety and possibilities

Throughout the shoot, I focused on creating variety in the images, both with smiling, positive expressions and more serious portraits. In this way, Anne Sofie had the opportunity to choose portraits for different purposes, such as press, social media and professional profiles.

After the photo session, Anne Sofie was given access to an online gallery so she could choose the five portraits she wanted edited. She could discuss her choice with her partner in peace.

Editing with a focus on quality

After selection, I edited the portraits with a focus on a natural finish. Small blemishes, redness and loose hairs were removed and the portraits were given a light highlight to ensure a professional result, delivering the images in different crops.

From camera to final images – this is how Anne Sofie experienced the photo session:

My experience with René has been nothing short of amazing! When I suddenly found myself in need of a professional portrait session for my appointment to the Berlingske Talent 100, a Google search led me to René’s website and Instagram. I was immediately convinced by his beautiful portraits, informative website, great prices and an incredibly user-friendly booking system, and quickly decided to book a session with him.

I don’t have much experience of being in front of a professional camera lens, but René created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in the studio from the very first moment. I was deeply impressed by his ability to quickly read me and find the look that perfectly suited my portrait. Particularly noteworthy was his ability to guide me through the session with a supportive hand, while allowing me to feel free to contribute my own input to the choice of images. It is clear that René puts the customer first and goes the extra mile to ensure a satisfying result in every session. When I received the finalized images shortly after, I couldn’t help but smile. René is not only an exceptional photographer, his editing is absolutely world-class. A big thank you to him for an excellent session and an experience I will never forget. I’m already looking forward to returning another time!
